Who’s at our table?
Ryan is a fifth-generation farmer who knew he was going to be a farmer as long as he can remember. I grew up just a short drive away but we didn’t meet until college. After we were married in 2003 Ryan began to teach me everything about the farm that I was willing to learn. Now we find joy in watching our children learn and grow on the farm. Our table is overflowing with five energetic farm kids, 3 boys and two girls.
What’s on the table
Our table isn’t set with fancy dishes (they would be broken anyway). Usually there is no centerpiece. Quality. We have quality on our table. Like most things in life not all cows are created equal. Our family farm has spent years selecting the best genetics and nutrition programs to develop high quality beef. Our cattle are born and raised right here in Northeast Missouri.
Our farm family of 7 strives to provide the highest quality food for our family and yours. To reach that goal we select from only the top Angus beef genetics in the country, with the end goal in mind years before the steak hits the grill. Our cows are pastured year around on over 400 acres in Ralls county Missouri.
Our family is dedicated to breeding high quality beef that will provide a prime meal experience fit for the most demanding at the table. So if your table is set with a fine tablecloth and beautiful dishes or if it is one with spilled milk and sibling antics, we have beef to fill your plate.
Importance of the table
We spent several years saving money for a long oak table for our kitchen. We spent more time planning this purchase than maybe anything else we have bought. Why? I believe a table is the heart of a home and more importantly a family.
We love to sit down at night and hear all the crazy antics of our five children. We laugh, complain, plan, conspire and pray. It’s where we connect. Ryan and I were both raised eating family supper prepared by our amazing cooking mothers (much better than I!). The table is where we celebrate birthdays, Christmas, we begin our days adventures here and return at night for the telling of five versions of tall tales.
The family table forms healthy bonds and healthy eating habits. The habits of emotionally connecting to others and healthy eating are important and lifelong. We don’t just want to eat together we want to eat well together. Healthy eating isn’t just salads. Beef provides a good source of protein and 14 other essential nutrients. Paired with healthy vegetables it provides a good muscle building staple for our hard working family. Our children work hard right beside us. The farm teaches them hard work, compassion, and the need for lifelong learning. We cannot imagine a better way to raise our children than days on the farm and meals together at the table.
We hope that our beef adds joy and health to your table and your family.
